What We Are

The Homeschool Atlas is an independent community organization dedicated to serving as the central coordination center for homeschooling families in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. One place where families can find events, resources, businesses, groups, deadlines, and support — instead of digging through dozens of Facebook groups.

We are not a co-op. We are not a school. We do not teach. We do not replace any existing group. We are the logistics and coordination layer for the entire parish.

The Tier System

Every event on the Hub is labeled with one of three tiers so families know exactly what we’re responsible for — and what we’re not.

Hosted

We plan and run these events. Full control over logistics, waivers, insurance, and safety protocol.

Coordinated

Partner-run events where roles are defined in writing. The Hub handles logistics support; the partner handles the program.

Listed

Community-submitted events. We share the information; we don’t run the event.

Neutrality

St. Tammany Parish has Catholic groups, Christian groups, and secular/inclusive groups. We serve all of them. Faith-based and secular options are both listed and clearly tagged so families can filter based on their preferences.

What We Don’t Do

  • We don’t teach. We’re not a co-op, a school, or a curriculum provider.
  • We don’t replace existing groups. We connect families to them.
  • We don’t endorse. Listed events and directory entries are community-submitted opportunities, not recommendations.
  • We don’t process payments for most events. When an event has a cost, families typically pay the venue or organizer directly.
  • We don’t handle ESA funds. We share eligibility info and point families to official resources and approved providers.
  • Core hub access is free. Some optional services may have a cost.
  • We don’t pick sides. Faith-based and secular options are both listed and clearly tagged.
  • We don’t sell family data. Email lists are never shared with sponsors.
  • We don’t publish without review. Every event and listing is reviewed for accuracy before it goes live.
